TEAMS: Miami Heat
Hedo Turkoglu became the second Magic player since 2009 (Rashard Lewis) to receive an NBA suspsension for violating the league’s anti-drug Tuesday, but the 12-year-veteran claims he unknowingly took the banned substance. Turkoglu says he was given the medication, which was the banned substance methenolone (a steroid), while recovering from a shoulder injury in Turkey over the summer. According to Josh Robbins, Orlando Sentinel: In statements released by the team today, Turkoglu and Magic general manager Rob Hennigan said Turkoglu unknowingly took the banned substance. “While I was back home in Turkey this past summer, I was given a medication by my trainer to help recover more quickly from a shoulder injury,” Turkoglu said in the statement. “I didn’t know that this was a banned substance and didn’t check before taking it. Hennigan said: “Hedo unknowingly took a banned substance. There are more than 125 banned substances on the NBA List, and we spend a lot of time educating our playe...

Chris Bosh head-fives Ray Allen and Mario Chalmers (GIF)

Miami Heat center Chris Bosh found himself left hanging when trying to give a high-five to teammates Ray Allen and Mario Chalmers as they walked off the court during a timeout in the final minutes of Tuesday night's 117-104 win over the Portland Trail Blazers. Allen and Chalmers were in the middle of a conversation, so rather than interrupt them, Bosh decided to tap their...

Stan Van Gundy: “Lebron James is Already Better Than Michael Jordan”

I know what Stan Van Gundy was trying to say when he made this quote on the Dan Le Batard Show.  It is very simple, he is simply saying at this point in his career, Lebron is a more skilled player than Michael Jordan. That part of it is based in some truth, mainly because I don’t think we have ever seen anyone as skilled and physically gifted as Lebron. He is some crazy hybrid...

Lebron James Says Don’t Compare Him to Michael Jordan

To even be in the Michael Jordan discussion you need at least three rings. Until then there is really nothing to talk about. Lebron is having a great stretch of games and he is totally locked into Optimus Bron mode, but none of that matters. Bron’s legacy will depend on how much jewelry he has when it is all said and done. From a practice sense, they aren’t the same type of player...

The Miami Heats’ Lebron James and Russell Westbrook named Players of the Week.

The king, is king yet again.

LeBron James makes NBA history, can he live?

LeBron James is having a history making season. He’s accomplishing things that we’ve never seen before as basketball fans. For an NBA record six games, LeBron has scored 30 or more on 60% shooting. There was a four game stretch during this same time frame that LeBron was at 75% shooting. Let that marinate for a second. Check out a few highlights from Heat vs. Blazers LeBron...

Lakers-Heat draws massive rating Sunday on ABC

The Miami Heat's 107-97 win over the Los Angeles Lakers Sunday afternoon on ABC drew a 5.0 overnight rating. Excluding Christmas Day games, it's good for the second-highest regular season overnight on ABC since they've been airing the NBA in 2002. This year's game trails just a Lakers-Heat matchup from last March, and is tied with a Lakers-Cavaliers game from February...

Michael Jordan Says He’d Choose Kobe Bryant Over LeBron James

In an interview with NBA TV (set to air Monday), Michael Jordan weighed in on a popular debate around the NBA – Kobe Bryant or LeBron James? via Ira Winderman, Sun Sentinel: “If you had to pick between the two, that would be a tough choice,” Jordan, now owner of the Charlotte Bobcats, told program host Ahmad Rashard, “but five beats one every time I look at it.” “And...
