Hiring Washburn was Roseman's Idea

Posted December 04, 2012

According to an article from Jeff McLane of Philly.com, Howie Roseman had a big hand in bringing Washburn in here. This brings me to a point that I've been wanting to make for a while now.

I knew Roseman was bad news from the moment the Eagles announced his hiring. It's been a tag team of him and Reid that have run this franchise into the dirt. Even if Reid does get fired, which I know think there is some reasonable doubt that he does, Roseman will be picking the next head coach. I will tackle that topic in another thread.

Ever since Howie Doodie was promoted to GM, this team has blown a butt-load of cash on big name players and coaches. You only need to look at the Redskins to know that just throwing money at a player or a coach more often than not never pans out. Despite that, it seems that Roseman may be prepared to back the Brinks truck up to the next coach without ever really conducting a proper, thorough search.

  • The franchise started falling apart the day Roseman was promoted. Reid gave him too much credit and agreed on moves that have been devastating.
  • Although I believe Washburn was Reid's hire, I do agree that Roseman is going to be a serious problem. His personnel decisions have been awful.
  • The organization is in shambles if you havent noticed. No winning superbowl coach is coming to this mess.
