Pablo Sandoval – Hot The Panda has been getting back into old form lately. In the last seven games, Pablo Sandoval is hitting .387 while slugging .548 with one homer. He has driven in five runs but has been getting on base for the other big guys to drive him in. Counting in the four times he has scored because of getting on base, Sandoval has accounted for almost a third of the Giants scoring in those seven games. Ryan Vogelsong – Not Ryan Vogelsong had a rough start to the season last year and unfortunately, it’s happening again. Vogelsong is (1-2) so far with a bloated ERA of 6.23. Extra-base hits are not what’s killing him, it’s the walks and base-hits. Vogelsong has given up seven homers, but only four doubles and one triple. He has given up 25 base-hits, couple that with 10 walks in 30.1 innings and teams are going to score quite a bit. Josh Donaldson – Hot It’s been a year that keeps getting better for Josh Donaldson. He had a rough start but has come on of late. In his last seven games, Donaldson is hitting .345 raising his overall average to .312. In those seven games, Donaldson has driven in seven RBIs and has four extra-base hits. Donaldson has also showed some patience taking five walks. The A’s have strung together some good wins and Donaldson is one reason why. Josh Reddick – Not (again) Sorry Josh Reddick, I don’t mean to pick on you but you’ve brought all this on yourself. It’s safe to say this is not the season Reddick thought he would have, and it is gradually getting worse. In Reddick’s last seven games, he is hitting an abysmal .053 while slugging an equally tragic .053 with zero homers and extra-base hits. After starting third in the batting order, Reddick has been relegated to the back of the order to try and hide his terrible hitting. The one bright spot, well more like a faint dim light, to this seven game switch is the one hit did lead to an RBI. Maybe it’s time for the beard to grow back. Carter Jurica (Fresno) – Hot It’s been a good year for Carter Jurica since being promoted to Fresno this year. Jurica is batting .337 with 13 RBIs and eight extra-base hits. Making the most of his promotion, Jurica has not only been the best hitter for the Grizzlies but the most consistent as well. All his base-hits have benefited the team as he has scored 16 times.
