Houston Texans (10-1) at Tennessee Titans (4-7) Tennessee may be 4-7, which isn’t a terrible record, but they are a terrible team. Of their 7 losses, 5 have come by 21 or more points and only one of their wins came by more than a field goal. Because of this, they are -97 in points differential. Only Philadelphia, Oakland, Jacksonville, and Kansas City are worse. Going off of this, they rank 30th in net points per drive, 29th in DVOA, and 29th in weighted DVOA. They are a team just as bad as the Eagles, Raiders, Chiefs, and Jaguars. In fact, last week they lost to the Jaguars even though they had a trend that was 22-3 ATS since 2002 on their side and the Jaguars had one that was 18-45 ATS since 2002 on their side. They’re terrible. The Texans, meanwhile, are one of the better teams in the NFL. They rank 3rd in net points per drive and 8th in DVOA and weighted DVOA. If we use the net points per drive method of computing line value, which takes the difference between the two teams’ net...

J.J. Watt continues to dominate the AFC

Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt is the best defensive lineman in the AFC in only his second year in the league in 2012. In only 11 weeks of action, Watt has recorded 14.5 sacks and is 1st  in total sacks in the AFC. That is an enormous accomplishment for any defensive player, but for a defensive end in the 3-4 defense, that type of impact is amazing. 3-4 defensive ends...

Texans not backing down as injuries increase

HOUSTON -- Suddenly the Houston Texans are broken. Not as a franchise, and not their season. Not metaphorically broken. Actually broken. Like with injuries. Out for Sunday's game against Tennessee are cornerback Johnathan Joseph, linebacker Bradie James, linebacker Brooks Reed, right offensive tackle Derek Newton and guard Antoine Caldwell. But that's only the surface of...

Ruud was with the Titans last season before losing his job to Colin McCarthy, but McCarthy is out against...

Titans RB Chris Johnson Optimistic On Changes Dowell Loggains Will Bring

Chris Johnson didn’t exactly say it, but it was easy to read between the lines when he talked about the change at offensive coordinator this week. The three-time Pro Bowl running back isn’t upset because the Titans fired Chris Palmer and promoted Dowell Loggains. Like a number of other offensive players, he’s optimistic about what Loggains could bring to the game plan. Johnson...

Steph Stradley answers Total Titans' questions about the Texans

To help get a better eye on the Texans before this week's game, I once again turned to Steph Stradley. You can also follow her on Twitter @StephStradley, where she says smart things about the Texans and mean things about Bud...
