Ride The Pine:
Every time an official makes a terrible call. Which is 7-9 times a game.
This Detroit Lions fan was caught yelling “open your ******* eyes” to the officiating crew after the called a face mask penalty during the second quarter of their Monday Night Football games against the Baltimore Ravens.
The replay showed the Lions DB holding on to the shoulder-pads and not the face mask.

We all know that Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson--otherwise known as Megatron--is a beast on the field, right? The man is hands down the best wide receiver of the day, and that's a pretty big statement with guys like Larry Fitzgerald, Andre Johnson, and Reggie Wayne still out there--but he is.He helped prove that last season when he blew away the single-season receiving...
Jonte Green has never started before in the NFL, but tonight the Lions will rely on him quite often. Green will face off against Marlon Brown. His experience is minimal with 20 defensive snaps this season. And now, in the biggest game of the season for the Detroit Lions, on national television against the Baltimore Ravens, one of […]
DETROIT - With so much on the line Monday night for the Detroit Lions, here's how running back Reggie Bush summed up his team's performance:
"We didn't play like we wanted it. It falls on the leadership of this team. It falls on the starters, the playmakers."
And, in the end, it falls on coach Jim Schwartz.
Justin Tucker's 61-yard field goal with 38 seconds...
The Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers both lost their top signal callers and had to keep their ships together with backup quarterbacks. However, the Detroit Lions starting signal caller has been under center during that stretch, but somehow they have fallen behind their division rivals. With two games to play, the Lions have their work cut out for them, while the Packers and Bears...
Cornerback Chris Houston has been officially ruled out for the Detroit Lions game Monday night against the Baltimore Ravens because of a toe injury.
Jonte Green, a sixth-round draft pick in 2012, is expected to get his first start of the season in place of Houston. Green made five starts last season as a rookie.
Running back Reggie Bush (calf) and defensive end Ezekiel Ziggy Ansah...
The Detroit Lions are a mess and I’m not sure it can be fixed anytime sooner. The Lions have a championship window that they need to take advantage of, because it’s about to close really quickly.
The 7-7 Lions are set to fire Jim Schwartz if they don’t make the playoffs, and the GM might be next. The capped strapped Lions have the highest salary cap in the NFL with a $162...
OK, Detroit Lions, you've gotten enough help.
Now it's on you.
The Lions have to win Monday night against the Baltimore Ravens at Ford Field to hold serve on the Chicago Bears and move back into a first-place tie in the NFC North.
If they lose, they'll actually drop all the way down to third place, behind the Green Bay Packers, too.
Chicago's 38-31 victory Sunday...
Calvin Johnson is mortal after all.
The Detroit Lions superstar has produced the greatest three-year receiving stretch in the history of the NFL, but dropped two passes that proved costly in a 18-16 loss Monday night against Baltimore.
"Definitely," Johnson said, when asked whether his drops blunted Detroit's momentum. "We had some critical third downs, and I...
ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on SportsCenter early Monday that the "expectation within the Lions' organization" is Reggie Bush (calf) will handle his normal workload Monday night against Baltimore.
Bush is officially listed as questionable, but beat writers close to the team all along have expected him to play. "The expectation within the Lions' organization...
Reggie Bush rushed for 42 yards and a touchdown in the first quarter, and the Detroit Lions took a 7-0 lead over the Baltimore Ravens in a crucial Monday night matchup with playoff implications in both conferences.
The Lions took advantage of a pair of early misplays by Baltimore safety Matt Elam. It was Elam who caused a stir in the week leading up to the game by saying that Detroit...
(Eds: Deletes extraneous material in 7th paragraph.) By LARRY LAGE AP Sports Writer Calvin Johnson gives friends in the NFL and other players he admires the shirt off his back - literally.
The Detroit Lions superstar has exchanged jerseys with fellow receivers, Pittsburgh's Antonio Brown and Cincinnati's A.J. Green, this season and has a collection of keepsakes on hangers...
The referees in the Detroit Lions-Baltimore Ravens game on Monday night missed a pass interference call that may have cost the Lions a touchdown. Late in the third quarter, the Lions had the ball at the Baltimore 23 for a 3rd-and-9 situation. Matthew Stafford threw a go route to Kris Durham, who was covered one-on-one […]
The Lions watched from the sidelines as Justin Tucker‘s 61-yard game-winning boot sent them falling down the NFC North standings and potentially out of the playoff picture altogether. And that might mean the end of Jim Schwartz‘s run in Detroit.
Schwartz, who led the Lions to the playoffs just once in his first four seasons, is very much on the hot seat in Detroit right now,...
Is there any team more confusing than the Detroit Lions?
Since sweeping the Chicago Bears to take a stranglehold of the NFC North in Week 10, Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford has turned the ball over 12 times (10 interceptions, 2 fumbles) and has finished only one game with a completion percentage higher than 57%. In these five games, the Lions have gone just 1-4.
With both teams sporting a 7-6 record the Baltimore Ravens and Detroit Lions meet this week on Monday Night Football at Ford Field in Detroit. The two teams share more than the same record. They both are on the outside looking in at the playoffs.
The stakes in this game couldn’t be much higher for both teams. With a win either team would find themselves back in the playoffs with...
