IF THIS POST SEASON HAS PROVED ANYTHING, IT’S WE’RE NOT THAT FAR BEHIND

I have to confess, I haven’t thought about the Mets offseason plans too much lately. What with the Giants and Rangers playing lights out and the Celtics getting ready to start the season with so much fire power a date with the Hollywood Fakers in the Finals looks inevitable. After a summer of dread and negativity I’m enjoying my fandom prosperity.  But an item this week caught my eye and made me wonder if change is really coming to Flushing. Rudy Jarmarillo has been given permission by the Texas Rangers to go job seeking where he’d like.   Now as we all know Jarmarilo is not just a Friend of Omar’s (FOO) but a trusted confidant.  Omar and RJ go back to Omar’s days as a scout and he was in the hunt for the Mets managerial job (and whose candidacy I endorsed) that went to Willie Randolph. Even after losing out to Randolph, Omar wanted RJ to join the organization but Jarmarillo felt a wee bit uncomfortable joining  a staff to the guy he lost out on for the head man job.  So Rudy J went...
