New York Mets first baseman Ike Davis struck out four times on a total pitches against the Atlanta Braves at Citi Field on Friday night. It is the third time that he has  accomplish the feat this season.  The game was suspended in the eighth-inning and will be resumed today.Davis may have an opportunity to whiff for the fifth time although manager Terry Collins may have a different idea for Davis who is now hitting .143.Some think it maybe time for Davis to get a whiff of the minor leagues. He is  1-for-his-last-42 (.024). Point made.“Not sure,” the manager said after the game was halted about how long he can keep sending Davis up to the plate and just hoping he turns it around. “Some of the decision has to be what is best for Ike Davis. For the season Davis has struck out 53 times in 165 plate appearances and  has failed to strike out at in only 12 of 43 games this season.Davis’ penchant for slow starts is  not unprecedented as he was hitting .168 with five home runs and 19 RBI at this point in 2012.  He was able to turn his season around and finished with career highs in home runs (32) and RBIs (90).Will  Davis get an opportunity to turn around his 2013 season?  That possibility seems to be fading.
