Found November 20, 2013 on The Detroit Sports Site:
Miguel Cabrera is fresh off his second MVP season with the Detroit Tigers, but could he be looking to move on and play with Albert Pujols when his contract is up after the 2015 season? In a tweet by Enrique Rojas of ESPN Deportes, retweeted by Cabrera’s own Twitter account, Cabrera is reported as saying (translated through Google Translate): “I fulfilled a dream playing with Magglio and Guillen. I would like to play with Albert Pujols, have the opportunity to share dressing room.” Miguel Cabrera: Cumplí un sueño jugando con Magglio y Guillén. Quisiera jugar con Albert Pujols, tener la oportunidad de compartir camerino" — Enrique Rojas/ESPN (@Enrique_Rojas1) November 20, 2013 The Tigers are already a cash strapped team, especially with that bloated Prince Fielder contract. A big concern of signing Fielder and Justin Verlander to big deals the last two years is whether or not the Tigers may have space to meet Cabrera’s justifiably huge salary demands. Now though, the question may be not if they can meet his demands, but if he even wants to stay in the D?  Although Cabrera did state he wants to be a “Tiger for life” in the same Twitter feed from Rojas, the stated desire to play with Pujols is a little odd since there seems to be no real possibility that could happen. Pujols is locked up long-term with the Los Angeles Angels in a contract not that dissimilar to the one Fielder signed. Unless there is a trade for the Tigers to acquire Pujols, which seems unlikely with no place to put the large, immobile, aging and slumping power hitter, the only way the two players will share a locker room will be in California. The two would not even be able to share a room in the World Baseball Classic or the Olympics, if baseball is ever brought back, since Miggy is from Venezuela and Pujols is from the Dominican Republic.

Detroit Tigers: who is Hernan Perez?

The Detroit Tigers have taken a wait and see approach in the early going of offseason free agency. Part of this might be due to the ridiculous numbers that agents are throwing around thus far.
