Now that the SEC has won another National Championship many people have anointed it the best conference, and that would be hard to argue. Every year it seems the SEC always has one team that is dominate and this year it was Auburn. The argument though that they are the best conference is something that I do not necessary agree with. The SEC did not go undefeated in Bowl Games and many times who you play have a lot to do with it. SEC has a good record against the Big Ten and they matched up with a lot of those teams.

Wins against Michigan State, and Michigan really was nothing special as both teams were not really that great. Yeah, the Spartans had a good record, but they struggled to beat some bad teams. We all know how bad Michigan was this season. Now I will admit the SEC top to bottom have a good conference and maybe one of the top ones. The problem is when you judge conference you have to see what they do against the other elite teams.

Take Auburn they did not dominate Oregon like many people thought would happen. Ohio State beat Arkansas in the Sugar Bowl finally to get the monkey off their back. I really do not think their is a dominate conference in college football. Yes, the SEC have some of the top teams, but on any given night they can be beaten by any team from another conference. Take Stanford how well would they do in a Bowl Game against an SEC team.

In the end I do not think you can put one conference over another, but the SEC has a great track record in the National Championship game. Many times though it all comes down to match ups and that can mean a lot in just one game.
