The Montreal Canadiens say defenseman Hal Gill has been hospitalized because of an undisclosed ailment. The team would only say Thursday that Gill has a virus. He has missed three games, including Thursday night at the New York Islanders. Montreal's game notes said Gill had sat out two games because of the flu.
