Michigan State Catholic priest Father Joseph Krupp (@Joeinblack) had a simple Twitter message for the Indiana Hoosiers going into last night’s game at the Breslin Center.
Pray for the parents of Hoosier players tonight: they’ll weep when they see what we’ve done to their children. #JesuslovestheSpartans
Of course Indiana won, 72-68, in East Lansing for the first time since the 1991 and Father Joe was left to wonder what he’d done to God to deserve such punishment.
But it was too late. God had already decided that the Spartans were due for a loss because the school’s football chaplain got greedy on Twitter.
You might think that Father Joe is an insensitive idiot. To the contrary. He’s the trash talking priest who dishes it out with regularity.
Take last week’s UM-MSU game.
To his credit, Joe In Black didn’t delete the tweet and claim he was hacked. The guy obviously tries to have a good time on Twitter, but it seems these days you can’t be a priest and joke about children.
