Jacksonville Jaguars (2-13) at Tennessee Titans (5-10) Aside from this being a divisional matchup, this is a completely meaningless game for these two teams. Both are out of the playoffs by a long shot. I have a rule against making significant plays on completely meaningless games. If the teams might not care about a game, I shouldn’t either. There’s just no way to predict what kind of effort either side is going to give. However, if I had to take a side, it’d be Jacksonville. The Titans have no business laying more than a field goal against anyone. They are worse than even their 5-10 record would suggest they are the 3rd worst team in the NFL in points differential, thanks to a league leading 6 losses by 21 or more. They rank 31st in net points per drive, DVOA, and weighted DVOA as a result, even worse than the Jaguars. They Jaguars may only have 2 wins, but they rank 30th, 30th, and 29th in those 3 things respectively. They already beat the Titans once this season and they have a ...

The Jacksonville Jaguars have officially moved on from general manager Gene Smith. Titans Keeping Mike Munchak As Their Head Coach?

David Climer of The Nashville Tennessean writes that the Titans are unlikely to part ways with head coach Mike Munchak this offseason. “They’re going to keep him. Get used to it,” writes Climer. Jake Locker Will Undergo Shoulder Surgery

According to the Nashville Tennessean, Titans quarterback Jake Locker will undergo left shoulder surgery "in the near future."Fantasy Spin:Locker was given the starting job at the beginning of the season but was never able to find his groove in Tennessee's offense. On Jake Locker

So it has come to this. Late last season, I wrote a post on a Titans offense that was fundamentally nonfunctional. Three hundred seventy-six days later, the offense is once again fundamentally nonfunctional, for similar but not exactly the same reasons. For this post, though, I'll concentrate on one of the differences. In that post a year ago, I declared Matt Hasselbeck was neither...

Tim Tebow to Jacksonville might be a stretch

Even with a recent report that Jets quarterback Tim Tebow could end up with the Jacksonville Jaguars next season,  Arthur Arkush of ProFootballWeekly.com says it’s probably a stretch to believe that he’ll be a Jaguar in 2013. After doing a little digging, we hear that categorizing his arrival in Jacksonville after the season as imminent is a major stretch. Khan’s prior interest...
