The season is over for Jaguars receiver Cecil Shorts (concussion), running back Rashad Jennings (shoulder) and linebacker Greg Jones (leg), who were placed on injured reserve Monday night.
Shorts sustained a second head injury in four games and is back in the teams concussion program. Jennings had missed the previous three games with a concussion and shoulder injury.
Jones, signed at mid-season to help on special teams, sustained a broken right leg against the Patriots.
To fill the roster spots, the Jaguars promoted receiver Jerrell Jackson from the practice squad and claimed offensive lineman Mark Asper and tight end Allen Reisner off waivers from the Minnesota Vikings.

Jacksonville wideout Cecil Shorts suffered a concussion Sunday against the Patriots.Fantasy Spin:We doubt Jacksonville would risk reinjuring one of their best players in a meaningless Week 17 game so this is probably the last we'll see of Shorts this season. Assuming he's done for the year, Shorts will finish the 2012 campaign with a career-high 979 yards on 55 catches.
No more wondering whether Jaguars' running back Rashad Jennings will play again in 2012 - he's been placed on injured reserve.Fantasy Spin:Jennings had his chances to show he can be a starting running back in the NFL and fell short on almost every occasion. Jacksonville needs to find a backup for oft-injured Maurice Jones-Drew as we don't believe the answer is on their current roster.
Chris Mortensen of ESPN reported Saturday night that Tim Tebow joining the Jacksonville Jaguars was a “virtually certainty” after the end of this season. While Tebow joining the organization might be on the horizon, journeyman QB Chad Henne did his best impression of a starting quarterback this afternoon against the New England Patriots. The Jaguars offense has been gutted by...
The Jacksonville Jaguars have placed 17 players on the injured reserve list this season and this week, added another three rounding the figure out at an even 20. The team had already lost WR Laurent Robinson and QB Blaine Gabbert with season ending injuries and now the team has moved WR Cecil Shorts, RB Rashad Jennings and LB Greg Jones onto the season ending injured reserve list...
Jaguars wide receiver Cecil Shorts III left the game late Sunday against the New England Patriots after taking a hard shot. After the game, Jaguars head coach Mike Mularkey classified Shorts' injury as a "head injury" and confirmed in his press conference on Monday that Shorts is in the concussion program.

It’s not new to accuse the Patriots of breaking the rules.
Jaguars head coach Mike Mularkey is blaming the Patriots’ goal line tactics for his tight end, Zach Potter, jumping offsides late in the fourth quarter as Jacksonville was facing a 3rd-and-goal situation on the Patriots’ one-yard line down by seven.

Jacksonville quarterback Chad Henne produced an impressive yardage total Sunday against New England (348 yards on 51 attempts) but his three interceptions put a damper on the afternoon.Fantasy Spin:To Henne's credit, not all of the miscues were his fault. One of the picks came on a desperation heave at the end of the game and the Jaguars receiving corps had butter fingers all...
The Titans' 2012 season will mercifully come to a close on Sunday as they host the 2-13 Jacksonville Jaguars, whose fans are also probably quite glad their season will be coming to an end. We'll be joined in our final question and answer exchange of the season by Shane Clemons of the Jaguars blog The Jaggernaut. If you have any questions for Shane about the Jaguars, please...
The Jaguars need Tim Tebow as much as Tebow needs the Jaguars. Time to get serious.
Here are my Power Rankings and a quick note about each team.
1) San Francisco - Don't panic, Seattle doesn't lose at home.
2) Texans - They are solid on both sides of the ball.
3) Patriots - Suspect defense keep them from the top spot.
4) Denver - On the rise, are they a Super Bowl...
