The Newport County AFC player was all set to join Lincoln City on a month-long loan when Newport went ahead and announced it on Twitter. The only problem is that the deal was not officially complete. Lincoln made it known … publicly. The Conference (England’s fourth division) club replied to Newport’s premature announcement with a request for some important documents. “‘Can you therefore get the paperwork signed and sent to us so the move can be completed???’” Lincoln asked in astonishment. Lincoln later questioned Newport’s professionalism. Thankfully for Thomson, the teams completed the deal later in the day. He could make his Lincoln debut on Saturday.
