NBA Injury News:
When news of Jason Kidd entering the Brooklyn Nets’ coaching search first surfaced, I don’t know how seriously many took the reports. It appears we all should have been following closely from the start, as Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports reports that the Nets are expected to release a formal announcement today naming Kidd as their next head coach.Kidd and the Nets have reached an agreement on a contract that is guaranteed for three years with a possible fourth-year team option, according to Wojnarowski. The Nets are set to introduce the future Hall of Famer as their coach during a Thursday news conference in Brooklyn. The public has been in support of Kidd’s candidacy, but it will be interesting to see how he handles the position compared to other more seasoned coaching candidates, such as Brian Shaw. To help him along in his new position, Kidd is reportedly working to secure two key assistant coaches, Lawrence Frank and Tim Grugrich to join his staff. Considering Kidd doesn’t have head coaching experience, his staff will be all the more important.Follow @hoopsinjurynews

The guys who get hired to coach NBA teams seem to come in about four varieties: the legends, the coaching lifers, college coaches and former players who still are young enough to seem vaguely cool (or at least familiar) to current players.
