Jason Witten thought he was getting rid of Brian Dawkins after the veteran safety left Philadelphia in free agency. Through the quirk of scheduling, however, they get to go head to head again.
In 11 games against the Eagles, Witten has had at least four catches four catches eight times. He has had three 100-yard games against them too.
"I've got a tremendous amount of respect for him," Witten said. "Going against him you feel like you're pretty familiar with him as a player and I'm sure he's the same with me."
Dawkins is playing a different scheme with different responsibilities but he remains a defense's emotional leader.
"He's still playing the same way, that tenacity that he brings," Witten said. "It's amazing to me much he brings to the defense and how they all feed off him."
