Star rapper and Brooklyn Nets minority owner Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter unveiled the team’s away jersey for road games, wearing during a concert at the team’s arena, Barclays Center.
“The Nets will wear white (home) and black (road) jerseys that feature ‘Brooklyn’ in the front and ‘herringbone tape running vertically along the sides, matching the team’s court design,’” the team announced in a press release.
The Nets will open up their first season as a part of Brooklyn on November 1 for the first game of the season against the rival New York Knicks.

The battle for hoops supremacy in New York is already underway, with the Nets eccentric owner taking the first jabs at his new inter-borough rivals.
Recently, Brooklyn Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov made a statement that the Nets will win a NBA title in the next three years. Unfortunately it is not up to the owner to make that happen, it is ultimately up to the talent on the court to make that happen. The day has finally come for the borough of Brooklyn and the Brooklyn Nets. The move from New Jersey to the borough of Kings now seems complete with Jay-Z officially opening up the Barclays Center, as well as revealing the Nets new jersey wearing the number 4. Hello, Brooklyn.
