Why would New York Jets quarterback, Mark Sanchez, be put into a meaningless game halfway through the 4th quarter behind a third-string offensive line?  Because head coach, Rex Ryan, runs the show. Gregg Rosenthal of NFL.com reports that Sanchez injured his throwing shoulder Saturday night after taking a punishing hit from Giants defensive tackle, Marvin Austin.  Sanchez was later taken for X-rays. Sanchez was put into the game behind an offensive line that will be bagging groceries at Sack-O-Suds in a few weeks.  Sanchez, who is in a QB competition with rookie, Geno Smith, was most likely going to be the Jets starter for Week 1.  It is unclear as to why Coach Ryan put Sanchez in at that time except to “win the game.”  This makes no sense Rex; the game had no bearing on the standings at all.  Who cares who wins? This is just another example of poor decision making by Rexy and another reason why Sanchez has not excelled in the NFL.  It is unclear how severe Sanchez’s injury is.  The Jets will have a QB start Week 1 and according to Coach Ryan, we will all know (whether he says it sideways or standing on his head) at the “appropriate time.” You can follow me on twitter @TheSoftParade69 Talk football talk cigars talk anything, I know a little about a lot.
