The New York Jets' offensive line will have its hands full this weekend at Washington. It has been a rough season for the five guys usually recognized as one of the league's best units and a major strength of the team. Next up is a big-time test against the Redskins and their sack-happy defense. After not allowing Mark Sanchez to be sacked last week against Buffalo, the Jets' offensive linemen are feeling pretty confident that they can keep things going Sunday - even against the team that ranks tied for third in the NFL with 33 sacks. Left guard Matt Slauson says the Redskins' front seven that includes linebackers Ryan Kerrigan and Bryan Orakpo is impressive, ''but we've blocked better fronts,'' so the Jets aren't feeling any added pressure.

DeAngelo Hall Says Sanchez Gets Confused

It seems nowadays everyone wants to get into the fun of talking bad about New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez. The latest, Washington Redskins corner DeAngelo Hall. "He doesn’t take as many chances as much as he just gets confused sometimes," Hall told the Washington Post. "A lot of times he just comes out and stares a receiver down, tries to throw him the...

Be happy, Jets fans; you could be Skins fans

Beloved Jets fans, we feel your angst about Mark Sanchez.

Team: Fans’ pregame booing of QB is unfair

The following is a public service announcement from Jets players to their fans: “We’ve got Mark Sanchez’ back.” This is the direct message Jets players delivered in unison yesterday in the aftermath of the abuse Sanchez has been getting this week despite throwing four touchdown passes in the Jets...

Washington Redskins vs New York Jets: Week 13 Preview

When it comes to the Redskins it’s all but impossible to predict what will happen next. Rex Grossman is always full of surprises, some good but most bad. The same thing can be said of Mark Sanchez. Both Quarterbacks have had just a tiny bit of trouble throwing the ball to, you know, the correct team. Rex Grossman and his infamous alter-ego Turnover-saurus-REX has thus far thrown...

Redskins falter late, fall to Jets 34-19

Mark Sanchez hit Santonio Holmes for a 30-yard touchdown pass with 4:49 to play Sunday, and Shonn Greene added a pair of insurance scores to give the New York Jets a 34-19 win over the Washington Redskins. It was Sanchez's 10th career fourth-quarter comeback or overtime victory, including playoffs, and ...

Enemy Intelligence: Last week's Buffalo Bills game

The New York Jets are coming off a 28-24 road loss to the New York Jets. The Bills took a 24-21 fourth quarter lead, but Mark Sanchez's fourth touchdown pass of the game, this one to Santonio Holmes, with 1:01 left to play gave the Jets the win. What I saw from Buffalo that game, and the others of theirs I've seen, after the jump. 5 Jets Who Will Determine Outcome of Final 5 Games

There are times when it feels like everything having to do with the Jets revolves around Mark Sanchez. Quarterbacks have been given a place of priority in the NFL, mostly because the state of the game right now demands a crisp passing attack if you harbor any hopes of contending for a championship. Crisp doesn't usually describe Sanchez's play all that well, which leaves...

Tom Moore Giving Keller Moore

Tight end Dustin Keller is having a career year. The favorite target of quarterback Mark Sanchez, Keller is the Jets’ top receiver, both in overall yardage (574) and in yards per game (52.2). And with five games left to play, it seems almost certain that Keller will top his previous career-high total of 687 yards, set in 2010. According to Metro, much of Keller’s success could...

Hog Heaven Opponent Scouting: the New York Jets

The Redskins actually play a very important game this week.  It's not the Giants, Eagles, or Cowboys who will line up across from them, but the New York Jets that come to town.  The Redskins have not dominated too many NFL teams of late, but the Jets (as well as the Cardinals and Bears) are the exceptions to the rule.  Since the NFL realigned in 2002, just three teams in the...

Cohen's Corner: Jets players taking on fans is a big mistake

It appears the Jets season now has hit a brand new low.Days after the Jets survived a sure defeat at the hands of the Buffalo Bills, Jets safety Jim Leonhard and head coach Rex Ryan felt it was necessary to rip Jets fans for booing quarterback Mark Sanchez during the quarterback's lack-luster performance on Sunday.First it was Leonhard, who, on his weekly spot on WFAN'...

Lots of Yelling

FLORHAM PARK–Bills wide receiver Stevie Johnson was fined $10,000 for his touchdown celebration on Sunday. Plaxico Burress’ response? “He can pay for it.” And that, was that. For whatever reason, there are still communication issues, even 11 games into the season. The disconnect on third-and-two between Mark Sanchez and Santonio Holmes is just one example. Rex Ryan voiced...
