Rich Cimini of ESPN New York expects the New York Jets to take a similar approach to their current quarterback competition to what the Seahawks did last year when they allowed Matt Flynn, Russell Wilson and Tarvaris Jackson to compete for the starting job. Jets new GM John Idzik was with Seattle last year, so he’s more than familiar with this approach. The team has said that they expect the competition to include all five of their quarterbacks – Geno Smith, Mark Sanchez, David Garrard, Greg McElroy and Matt Simms – but it’s almost impossible to give that many quarterbacks an equal amount of reps during training camp. This is why Cimini believes the true competition will be between Smith, Garrard.  to be drawn between what the Seahawks did last year with their competition and the players the Jets currently have. Smith is a rookie quarterback just as Wilson was last year with Sanchez being in a similar situation to that of Flynn, who was the favorite based on his current salary. Garrard is the veteran with the most NFL experience just like Jackson was last year. The only major difference from the Seahawks plan is that the Jets are implementing a new offense and will be pressured to get their quarterbacks familiar and ready for the start of the season. It will be interesting to see anyone of their quarterbacks is able to separate themselves from the pack like Wilson did last season.      The post Jets QB Competition Expected To be Similar To Seattle’s From A Year Ago appeared first on NFL Trade Rumors -.
