Found October 14, 2013 on NFL Injury Report:
The New Orleans Saints may have suffered a loss much greater than the heartbreaking last minute comeback drive that resulted in a 30-27 Patriots victory Sunday. Star tight end Jimmy Graham exited the game with what the Saints have only disclosed as a lower leg injury to this point. Mike Triplett of ESPN reports Graham tried to finish the game but the injury forced him out permanently. Graham briefly returned to the field after having his lower left leg taped up, but then he limped off with trainers before the game ended. Graham was held without a catch for the first time since his rookie season. He had been leading the league in receiving yards up to this point, which is almost unheard of for a tight end. Even when not being targeted, a tight end with Graham’s ability to stretch the field has an incredible impact for the Saints offense. Without much argument, Graham is the Saints’ top weapon. One thing working in the Saints’ favor is that Week 7 is their bye week, so Graham can have the next two weeks to recover before the Saints play again on October 27th against Buffalo. If Graham is forced to miss more time than that, his absence could severely hamper a Saints offense that had been rolling until Graham’s injury. The impact was evident in the closing minutes of Sunday’s game in New England, as the Saints had a few opportunities to shut the door on the Patriots but couldn’t convert to move the chains. Signs point to an ankle injury but the team won’t speculate on the severity just yet. Stay tuned, as the Saints will probably paint a clearer picture in the coming days.

Report: Saints TE Jimmy Graham Undergoing MRI On Knee

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reports that a league source has informed him that Saints TE Jimmy Graham is undergoing a Monday MRI on his knee. Graham suffered the injury during the second half of Sunday’s loss to the Patriots. He was able to play through the injury, but was largely ineffective throughout the game. The Saints could hardly afford to lose one of the best offensive...

How the Patriots Shutdown Jimmy Graham

The complete shutout of Jimmy Graham, the most dominant tight end in football this year, was a notable outcome in a Patriots game that had several highlight moments. While Aqib Talib deserves all the praise in the world for pretty much single covering Graham for the entire night (before he left in the fourth quarter with a hip injury), make no mistake, the Patriots clamp down...

Saints Jimmy Graham getting an MRI on his knee

Saints fans everywhere should be holding their breath today as the best receiver on the team gets his injured knee checked out. Sure he’s not officially a receiver. But tight end Jimmy Graham is for all practical purposes a receiver who lines up tight to the tackle roughly 40 percent of the time. Graham per a league source is getting an MRI to determine the extent of the injury...

Patriots Defense Unsung Heroes in Win Over Saints, Hold Jimmy Graham to Zero Catches (Video)

New England’s offense may be getting the bulk of the credit for the Patriots’ win over the Saints on Sunday afternoon, but it was their defense who put them in that position to pull off the dramatic victory. The Pats’ defense shut down Drew Brees and Co., and most impressively they didn’t allow Jimmy Graham to haul in a single catch in the game. For the first time in 46...

Patriots’ Defense Keeps Excelling at Taking Opponents’ Biggest Weapon Away, Shuts Out Jimmy Graham (Video)

FOXBORO, Mass. – Jimmy Graham who? If Patriots fans have been living in a bubble since their team last played the Saints, that may be what New Englanders are asking themselves right now. The big tight end was the storyline of the week. And now that the week is over, Graham was held catchless. Aqib Talib played a huge role in stopping Graham, until both players got hurt, that...

NFL Week 6 Previews, Winners and Losers

As the NFL enters Week 6, there are 20 teams either in first place or within a game of the top spot in the division. And in seven of the eight divisions, there are either multiple teams tied for first or at least one team within a game of the lead. “This team is hungry,” said Cleveland Browns’ head coach Rob Chudzinski, whose team is one of the squads tied for first place in...

Pats Match-Up Mania: Gronk vs. Graham?

There probably won’t be any Gronk this Sunday. The October 13 game involving the New Orleans Saints and New England Patriots looked to be one of the games to remember from the NFL’s 2013 calendar. Tom Brady. Drew Brees. Touchdowns galore. Oops. Now, it could be something else. The title of this piece this week represents the change that has taken place. Saints TE Jimmy Graham...

Aqib Talib limps off in New England

In the first half of the Saints-Patriots contest Saints tight end Jimmy Graham was held without a catch due to a defensive approach centered on cornerback Aqib Talib. If the Patriots are going to keep Graham off the board they may have to do it without Talib. Talib limped off the field after a first down play in the third quarter and is being examined by medicall staff on the Patriots...

Saints Nation: Offensive Player Grades @ Patriots

This was by far the Saints' best offensive performance from an offensive line and running game standpoint. It's odd that it happens to coincide with such a bad game from Brees and Graham. Graham was by design, but Brees was just way off. It's just too bad because this offense needed just one first down to kill this game on the final two drives and couldn't make it...

Saints Nation: Saints Have Guts Ripped Out, Lose 27-30 on Last Second Patriots' TD

How do I even recap a game like that and do it any kind of justice? There is no two ways around this one, that was a brutal loss. As bad as it gets. That one will sting for a long time, worse because we're now left with that taste in our mouth going into the bye. The Saints had two golden opportunities to put this game away, all that was needed was a first down. They couldn&...

Fantasy Injury Bug

Many notable star fantasy players will be out for a few weeks, if not the rest of the season. This could impact your team even if you don’t have them on your roster. Jimmy Graham, TE, New Orleans Saints – Graham has posted monster numbers going into week 6 where he injured his foot against the Patriots. Luckily, for him and the Saints, they have a bye week in week 7 before hosting...
