Joe Sakic VP of hockey operations for the Colorado Avalanche has made it official that Colorado will not be drafting highly sought after defenseman Seth Jones with their first overall selection at the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. Sakic recently told ESPN.com "He’s (Seth Jones) a great player, he’s going to be good," Sakic said over the phone from Denver. "But after we had our internal meetings we came up with these three forwards, (Nathan) McKinnon, (Jonathan) Drouin and (Alexander) Barkov. We’re really leaning towards one of those three forwards. Early on in this process, hockey experts were virtually betting money at the Colorado Avalanche were going to select Seth Jones because of his ties to the Denver area. The kids father played for the Denver Nuggets of the NBA. I can't say I blame Joe Sakic for his decision.
