Jonathan Cooper tended to by trainers after breaking his leg in 2013
By now, fans and media have analyzed Jonathan Cooper’s recovery and injury to the point that he’s essentially a house hold name around the league. Fans have anxiously watched last years seventh overall pick with interest, hoping to see a glimpse of what they hoped he would have been last year. Unfortunately, those glimpses have been few and far in between.
Cooper has had an entire year off, and in turn has to knock off a years worth of rust. He’s a young player who suffered his first major injury, and still has to play in an actual NFL game. Cooper played in the preseason opener against the Houston Texans, and showed some more glimpses of his potential, but he was more reluctant than he should have been. After having the same leg he broke last year rolled up on, he got up, limped a little, and continued playing. However, that may not have been the confidence booster that most players would have taken it as.
Interesting how #AZCardinals have pushed 1st round G Jonathan Cooper. Sounds like he’s had trouble trusting his healed leg. Needs confidence

With the possibility that Tyrann Mathieu and Alameda Ta’Amu may find themselves off of the PUP list this week, their progress will be interesting to monitor, as both are recovering from knee injuries. Will their confidence be affected? Time will tell, but fans are hoping they can return to full speed before the season opener on September 8.
