Sometimes it's hard for me to identify with athletes. Yeah, I have the talent of a Wayne Gretzky, but I'm far more a physical presence. Yeah, I have the dominance and bald head of Michael Jordan, but I'd shoot myself if I had to play golf as much as he does. Yeah, I have the good looks of Tom Brady, but I'm not big on knocking up girlfriends and leaving them for supermodels.He did that, by the way.
But today, I found my sports soulmate in Ron Artest.
He's crazy, talented and he loves drinking booze during halftime of sporting events. Of course, he's playing in them while I'm watching them, but that's what makes him my new favorite athlete on the planet.
My idol tells The Sporting News:
"I used to drink Hennessy … at halftime. "I (kept it) in my locker. I'd just walk to the liquor store (near the stadium) and get it."
I wonder what he said that resulted in the (kept it) instead of what he actually said. "I had that s**t in my locker" is my guess.
There's other great stuff in that article, including his love of marijuana, being a dad at 19, and wishing he had that same power that girl had on Out of This World where she touched her fingers and time stopped.
You're probably thinking this shows what a wonderful human being I am, being able to identify with someone who is not of my race. And you'd be right. I'm amazing.
