Pittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Kevin Correia (11-6, 3.74) will be going to the MLB All-Star after all. Correia was initially left off the NL roster, but will now replace Philadelphia Phillies starter Cole Hamels. Hamels – along with Giants pitcher Matt Cain – is scheduled to start the Sunday before the All-Star game. Since Hamels was chosen to the game via the players’ voting ballot, NL manager Bruce Bochy will not select his replacement. Instead, the honor goes to the next-ranked player on the players’ ballot, and that is Kevin Correia. Correia will join closer Joel Hanrahan as the Pirates’ representatives, while superstar center fielder Andrew McCutchen will not.
