Kevin Curtis gets his knee scoped, as does Andy's extension.

Eagles wide receiver Kevin Curtis underwent arthroscopic knee surgery Saturday, even though there were conflicting opinions on how severe his injury is.

"There wasn't too much in there that they had to work on," Said Eagles coach Andy Reid. "They just snipped a few little things in there. It wasn't a major thing."

Members inside the Novacare complex believe that there's a good chance that Kevin Curtis will return this season. While other aren't so optimistic in his recovery time. Geoff Mosher of Delaware Online has a grim opinion on the status of the one time Eagles starter. Mosher believes that not only is Kevin Curtis done for the 2009 season, he may not return to play in another NFL game.

That prognosis happens to be a bit drastic, especially since most didn't believe that Curtis' injury was that severe to begin with. Curtis is just two-year removed from his best season as a Professional football player, where he had 77 catches for 1,110 yards and six touchdowns in 2007. Last season Curtis only played in nine games, where he caught 33 balls for 390 yards and two touchdowns. This season he played in just two games, caught 5 balls for 70 yards and no touchdowns.

Head coach Andy Reid is optimistic about Curtis' return, "I think time will tell here, but I think so. We'll just take it day by day here and see how he does."

Reid is less optimistic about middle linebacker Omar Gaither, who had according to the team, a successful surgery for the Lisfranc foot sprain he suffered in the Eagles collapse against the Raiders last Sunday. The Eagles currently do not have Gaither on injured reserve, but Reid acknowledged, "It doesn't look good."

Speaking of not looking good.

According to several sources, Curtis may not be the only member of the team this year who may not return in 2010. There have been several people in the know in Philadelphia, Sal Paolantonio and Anthony Gargano for examples who have stated that the Eagles loss to the Raiders last week have brought issues to the attention of owner Jeffrey Lurie and Joe Banner about head coach Andy Reid's future in Philadelphia.

Currently they are trying to work out an extension to keep Andy in Philadelphia, the extension was thought to take place within the next few weeks. But due to the loss at Oakland they have decided to push back the extension talks until after the season ends. Many believe they wish to evaluate the full 2009 season and then make a decision on whether to give Andy his extension or not.
