Boateng reacts after being racially abused by the fans
AC Milan midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng will meet FIFA president Sepp Blatter on Friday to discuss proposals to eradicate racism in football.
German-born Ghana international Boateng made headlines in January when he left the field of play during a winter break friendly match against lower league side Pro Patria.
Boateng was protesting racial abuse from the stands during that match, with his team-mates following suit.
And with racism high on the agenda for FIFA – particularly in Southern and Eastern Europe – Blatter has arranged to speak with the former Tottenham playmaker.
“The player has been invited to exchange his views on the best manner to combat racism,” FIFA said in a statement.
“The visit of Boateng comes just after the creation of an anti-discrimination taskforce, announced by (Blatter) earlier in Match, which will convene during the international week in Geneva.”
