I learned a few things from the Halos’ complete and utter discombobulating of the Red Sox this past week.
First, I’m apparently pretty darned smart for picking up the Angels because they remind me of the Braves’ juggernauts of old — pitching, pitching, pitching, and when you’re done with that, more pitching. Lackey, Weaver and Kazmir could well be the next ‘Big Three’, a la Maddux and Glavine and Smoltz (oh, my!), circa the late ’90s.
(Except Kazmir coughed up five runs in his six innings of work. So he can be Steve Avery. Or maybe a shaky Denny Neagle. I never said the analogy was perfect, dammit.)
Anyway, it’s clear that these Los Anaheim Orange Countyers of Cal-Angeles arms can shut down some...
