We all know the Black Mamba isn’t getting any younger, although his scoring percentage is still high, Kobe Bryant is 34 years old. As a player who was drafted straight out of high school, 17 seasons in the NBA is not an easy task especially while being the leading scorer on your team. However all good things must come to an end eventually, and for Kobe Bean Bryant that maybe in the near future, within the next two years to be exact. If you thought Bryant would be the next Robert Parish and play until he was 43 years old, I’m sorry to inform you but you were mistaken. In a recent interview during the 2013 NBA All-Stars game, Bryant was asked how much time he has left in professional basketball. “Probably two years max. Two years max. Next year might be it. It’s one of those things I think I’ll wake up and I’ll know. And if it’s it for me, that’s it, and there’s no looking back.” Earlier this month he said he only saw himself playing this year, but now he has given himself a little breathing room adding another year. Next season the highest paid man in the NBA $30.5 million dollar contract will expire.  There is always the possibility he could sign a one year deal, but the chances of that are slim. Kobe plays to win championships. He could make millions simply by cashing out on his numerous endorsements ranging from Nike to Turkish Airlines. However if the Lakers continue along this dreadful losing streak, they won’t make the playoffs. Kobe is a prideful and egotistical competitor, some would say rightful so,  and I don’t believe he would want his NBA chapter to end with not making the playoffs so expect to see him again next season.
