Penguins Puck:
According to Will DePaoli of Inside Pittsburgh Sports, there is much speculation around the league that the Penguins will attempt to land current Ottawa Senator Alexei Kovalev.
The soon-to-be 38-year-old spent 5 season playing for Pittsburgh, from 1998 to 2003. He recorded his career high of 95 points here in the 2000-2001 season.
Kovalev is in the final year of his contract, and brings along a caphit of $5 million, now affordable by the Penguins.
Kovy has 23 points in 48 games, and is clearly on the downside of his career.
He could likely be had for a mid-to-late draft pick or two.
