The Tennessee Lady Volunteers defeated the Oklahoma Sooners by a score of 74-59 in the Sweet 16 round of the NCAA women’s championship on Sunday.
The game was played in Oklahoma City in an arena full of screaming Oklahoma Sooner fans, but the Lady Vols didn’t let the atmosphere or anyone’s doubts affect them.

Without legendary head coach Pat Summitt leading the team for the first time, head coach Holly Warlick had big shoes to fill, and many argued that it wouldn’t be possible for UT to reach the Elite Eight for the 26th time.
Oklahoma kept the game close in the opening minutes, but midway through the first half Tennessee had taken a 24-13 lead over the Sooners. By halftime, the Lady Vols were up 44-27.
The second half was dominated by UT as the team led by as much as 28 points.
