by Chris BurkeFiled under: RedskinsLarry Johnson's Redskins career lasted all of two regular-season games and five carries. The team announced Tuesday that it had released the veteran running back. "We appreciate Larry's attitude and contributions to the Redskins," Redskins general manager Bruce Allen said in a statement. "However, we needed to make a roster move in preparation for this week's game against the Rams." Johnson's release further thins out a once-overloaded Redskins' RB corps. Washington added both Johnson and Willie Parker during the offseason -- Parker didn't even last until the regular season, as he was released in early September. Now, with Johnson's departure, the Redskins are down to starter Clinton Portis and undrafted rookie Keiland Williams. Ryan Torain, who also spent the preseason in Washington, is currently a member of the Redskins' practice squad and could get a bump up. Permalink | Email this | Linking ...
