After their game one loss to the Bruins, the Leafs knew they had to significantly improve their game if they wanted a chance at advancing to the second round. They did just that. Reimer made 41 saves, Lupul had two goals, Kessel got the monkey off his back in the game winner, and JVR got the insurance marker as the Toronto Maple Leafs defeated the Boston Bruins 4-2 to even up the series at one. This win is huge, because the Leafs have now proven that they are capable of beating the Boston Bruins. It's only one game, but if the Leafs continue to play like this, and James Riemer can continue playing at this high level, there's no denying that the Leafs have a chance to upset the Bruins. The win marked the first in the playoffs from the Leafs since April 30th, 2004. It also marked Phil Kessel's first playoff goal as a Leaf which silenced the crowd that is usually busy mocking the 25 year old forward by chanting "Thank You Kessel". Instead, this time it was Leafs fans saying "Thank You Kessel".More Great Content
