Ride The Pine:
You would think Lee Corso, who is a former Florida State University football player, would be able to spike the legendary Seminole Spear? Not so fast my friends.
Corso was doing his Saturday Selections when ESPN’s College Gameday was live at FSU in preparation for their matchup against 9th ranked Clemson Tigers tonight. Corso wore a Native American Indian headdress and face paint to show his selection of the 4th ranked Seminoles but when he went to plant the spear into a patch of turf that was on the stage, it wouldn’t stick.
It took Corso 5 attempts before it would stick and the crowd and co-host Kirk Herbstreit were in hysterics.
This is exactly why this pregame show is my favorite in all of sports.

The last time ESPN GameDay stopped in Tallahassee was around this time last year when Oklahoma hurt E.J. Manuel and the Sooners won, 23-13. We were outside The Doak for last year’s show and had never seen people drinking from kegs at a GameDay stop. Of the 7 career GameDay stops we’ve made,

EJ Manuel threw for a career-high 380 yards and two touchdowns and ran for another 102 yards as fourth-ranked Florida State rallied from a two-touchdown deficit to defeat No. 10 Clemson 49-37 on Saturday night.

This Clemson\Florida State game has received wall to wall sports coverage this week. There have been far more stories on this game that Michigan\Notre Dame or Oklahoma\Kansas St. Funny what a matchup of a couple of top 10 teams will do. I haven’t yet given my thoughts on what I think is going to happen in the ACC’s game of the year.
Florida State has certainly looked impressive...
In the sport of college football, unfortunately, too often we hear about the “numbers crunch.” How scholarships can come and go, and be taken away by a head coach at the drop of the hat. Sometimes it's to make way for a better player, sometimes it’s because a college coach has decided a high school recruit isn’t worthy, and sometimes, well, we never get an answer...
College football’s premier matchup for Week 4 takes place in Tallahassee. Florida State and Clemson have combined for a 6-0 start, but this will be...
Florida State fought from behind for much of the game, but in the end was able to overcome every obstacle on their way to a 49-37 win over conference rival Clemson.
Florida State defeated Clemson 49-37 on Saturday night in a key ACC division battle. The Seminole's racked up over 650 yards of total offense, here is a break-down of that side of the football.
DC's out of pocket for the weekend, but enjoy the Gameday signs from Florida State and check in on our Game of the Week predictions before the Noles take on Clemson tonight. Happy Saturday *******.
Florida State hosted three official visitors and a host of unofficial's for the Clemson game. NoleDigest breaks down how the weekend went and what we can expect moving forward.
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - It's halftime at Doak Campbell Stadium and Clemson leads Florida State, 21-14.
After three woodshed beatings to start the year, Florida State faces a legitimate opponent when they face Clemson tonight and gets an opportunity to make a statement before the nation. Clemson is a very good football team with one of the most explosive offenses in the nation—I actually think their offense is comparable, if not better than the more celebrated unit at Southern Cal.
There is no question that this is a big recruiting weekend for Florida State and we expect plenty of prospects in town for the game. We take a look at a select few and see how their recruitment is trending.
Somewhere in Baton Rouge, La., Kevin Steele likely saw the Clemson-Florida State score and thought, “See, it wasn’t all me.”
