Anthony Pettis, who defeated Benson Henderson to win the lightweight title this past Saturday at UFC 164, will be sidelined for the next seven to eight weeks with a sprained knee.
"Newly crowned UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis has been diagnosed with a sprained right knee, following an MRI the fighter underwent on Tuesday," UFC president Dana White said.
The new UFC lightweight champ is seen here post fight holding his WEC belt that he also took away from Ben Henderson. Who knows maybe he will be dropping down to featherweight and adding a third title but my thought if that fight happens it will take place at 155.

Newly-crowned UFC Lightweight champ Anthony Pettis will be out of action for approximately two months with a grade 2 knee sprain. The news was first revealed by UFC President Dana White, who went on ESPN’s SportsCenter to break the news. He would later post a confirmation on twitter.
