It appears that one of Louisville’s top returning players on the defensive side of the ball will be out for an extended period of time.
Sophomore linebacker Keith Brown was noticeably absent during the Louisville football team’s first practice on Monday afternoon.
Following Monday’s practice, Charlie Strong didn’t elaborate on the extent of the injury, but it doesn’t look very promising at this point. “It will take some time for him to get back out here,” Strong told the media. He also noted that the team had guys who are ready to step into that spot.
As a true freshman in 2012, Brown was a bright spot for Vance Bedford’s defense. Brown appeared in 11 games and started six for the Cards. He was named a freshman All American by FoxSports.com. Brown was also named Big East Defensive Player of the Week following Louisville’s win over Temple.
