The 2013 NHL Winter Classic will be a “home game” for the Detroit Red Wings. They’ll take on the Toronto Maple Leafs, the most valuable franchise in all of hockey in an all original six showdown.
The question of locale remains? Will it be held at Michigan Stadium, home of UM Wolverines college football? Or the MLB venue, Comerica Park home of the Detroit Tigers? The NHL is having two press conferences tomorrow, with a “major announcement” to occur according to the press release. So we should have our answer by late morning, early afternoon at best.

From the looks of the press release, the smart money is on Comerica Park. That presser is first, and much more attention is paid to it in the press release. Also, the Comerica Park press conference will be televised live at 10:30 am ET across North America by NHL Network and streamed live on NHL.com
The Michigan Stadium presser is at 1:15 ET.
