Boston Bruins winger Loui Eriksson has been cleared for contact and it shouldn’t be too much longer before he returns to the lineup, but his status for Thursday’s game in Los Angeles against the Kings is doubtful. Julien confirms Loui Eriksson cleared for contact ^CS— Boston Bruins (@NHLBruins) January 08, 2014 Per Julien, Loui "doubtful for tomorrow" since today was first day of contact, but doesn't think it will be very long before his return ^CS— Boston Bruins (@NHLBruins) January 08, 2014 Eriksson has been recovering from his second concussion of the season, which was suffered on Dec. 7 against the Pittsburgh Penguins. His first concussion occurred on Oct. 23 against the Buffalo Sabres. The 28-year-old forward, who on Sunday was named to Sweden’s men’s hockey roster for the 2014 Winter Olympic games in Sochi, has missed 19 games because of injury. Eriksson has tallied 14 points (five goals, nine assists) with a plus-eight rating in 24 games for the Bruins. Boston’s matchup versus the Kings is the second of three California road games the team will play before returning to TD Garden on Tuesday, Jan. 14 to face the Toronto Maple Leafs.Filed under: Boston Bruins, Headlines, Loui Eriksson, NHL, Nicholas Goss
