The Cardinal Connect:
15 games into the 2012-13 season the Louisville Cardinals are 14-1 overall and are ranked No. 9 in the RPI. Louisville’s current strength of schedule ranks No. 22 in the country, but that ranking will likely climb within the next few weeks as the Cardinals are getting ready to hit one of the tougher stretches in their schedule. After the South Florida game tomorrow afternoon, Louisville will have a very tough eight game stretch.
Louisville’s Next Eight Games:
–Jan 14 - @ UConn
–Jan 19 - #7 Syracuse
–Jan 22 - @ Villanova
–Jan 26 - @ #19 Georgetown
–Jan 28 - Pittsburgh
–Feb 3 - Marquette
–Feb 6 - @ Rutgers
–Feb 9 - @ #17 Notre Dame
Syracuse will be the best team Louisville will face this season. They are one of the three opponents that the Cards have on their schedule twice.UConn isn’t the same type of team that the Big East is used to seeing, but the Huskies still have some talented players and can compete with any team in the country.
Villanova has struggled this year,

The University of Louisville and South Florida basketball programs have met 30 times since 1985, with UofL winning 26 times, but none of them more satisfying than the 64-38 crushing of the visiting Bulls Saturday.
Typically the games have been in slow motion, USF agonizing every minute out of the clock with slowdown basketball, attempting to lull participants and onlookers into dreamland...
Since returning to the court for Louisville, Gorgui Dieng is picking up right where he left off, prior to suffering a fractured wrist in November.
Dieng is averaging 11 points, 10.5 rebounds and 3 blocks in his first three games back with the Cardinals.
Those are some pretty impressive numbers for a guy who missed over a month of action. It’s just been three games, but in my opinion...

Just two days after announcing that starting forward Chane Behanan would miss seven-to-ten days and possibly miss up to four games with a sprained ankle, Pitino now says he expects Behanan to play tomorrow.
