Many Cards fans have been begging for a series to start with Notre Dame for a while now and their dream is finally coming true.  In 2014 the Cards will take the field against the Fighting Irish in South Bend. With the insane deal that Notre Dame made with the ACC for football, it basically allows them to play a full ACC schedule while not having to share the profits with the other schools in the conference.  This is very similar to the deal that Notre Dame previously had in the Big East where all their sports but football could take part in the conference.  Not many people thought Notre Dame would be able to pull off another deal like that but I guess just bringing Notre Dame to an ACC school 3-4 times a year increases revenue for the conference. If the Cards are playing in South Bend in 2014, the logical thinking is that Notre Dame will come to Louisville in 2017.  Also if the ACC just sticks the Cards into Maryland’s spot and doesn’t change their schedule, the Cards will travel to Clemson.  Leaving the Cards to host Florida State and Virginia Tech.  My goodness I cannot wait to start playing this schedule!  Talk about a 180 degree turn around as far as strength of schedule is concerned.
