Former Chicago Bears coach Lovie Smith plans on coaching in
2013 and “is very interested” in the coaching vacancies of the Arizona
Cardinals and Buffalo Bills, reports NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reported Monday on NFL Network's
"NFL Total Access" that Smith plans to coach in 2013 and is very
interested in the Arizona Cardinals and Buffalo Bills’ head-coaching vacancies.
Smith spent nine years with the Bears, leading the team to
one Super Bowl and multiple playoff appearances. However, Chicago elected to
part ways with the veteran coach yesterday after he once again failed to reach
the postseason.
Smith isn’t interested in taking a year away from football,
as he’s hoping to pick right up with a new club in 2013. While it’s unclear if
the Cardinals or Bills have interest in Smith, he would seem to be a solid
candidate considering his decent track record in Chicago.
