Lying Liars and the Lies They Tell

The Cub blogosphere was all abuzz around the 4th inning with rumor it now appears was a pure fiction, created by Former Playgirl Model Steve Stone and Mark Derosa Restraining Order recipient David Kaplan. The Former Playgirl Model tweeted that Detroit was interested in acquiring Milton Bradley. (We would’ve linked to the Former Playgirl Model’s tweets, but he has protected them from the likes of us.) His old partner is arrogant douchebaggery and orangy skin tone, David Kaplan, then blogged about “two very solid baseball sources” that were confirming the rumor. The only problem? It seems none of this came from the Cubs or the Tigers, but instead from the duplicitous braintrust of a Former Playgirl Model and an orange guy. Per intrepid Daily Herald Cubs beat reporter Bruce Miles, blogging over at NSBB: “Total hogwash. Two Cubs people said it’s the first they’ve heard of it and that Jim hasn’t talked with anybody about this. Let’s remember Stone has a, um, a, shall we call it, a thing for the Cubs. And Kap is his buddy. This is total fabrication.” Yee-ouch. Bravo, Bruce. Former Playgirl Model Steve Stone’s response? “Who is Bruce Miles?” The arrogance on this studio-tanned, check-dodging Former Playgirl Model is just ******* astounding. I mean Bruce isn’t exactly an international superstar, but he’s been a beat guy in the same town that Former Playgirl Model Steve Stone has been working in for 20 years. The Former Playgirl Model knows who he is; the response is just an attempt to self-aggrandize and puff up his own sense of self-importance. But here’s the facts: In fact, someone went to Dave Dombrowski, the Tigers GM, and was informed that Dombrowski “would never have Bradley on his team.” At this point, Ginger Face begins backtracking on the WGN Radio postgame show. No word from the Former Playgirl Model. But the Frumpy Hobbit managed to track down the interested parties on the Cubs’ side of things, including GM Jim Hendry: A Cubs official then told Bradley the rumor was “100 percent untrue.” Bradley began berating the media for spreading the rumor, calling it “garbage.” A few minutes later, Cubs general manager Jim Hendry said he hasn’t spoken to any team about Bradley. So now we have both GM’s saying nothing ever happened. So, in answer to the Former Playgirl Model’s questions, ACB says this: Who’s Bruce Miles? He’s the guy that had the testicular fortitude to blow the lid on you and Kaplan’s little parade of lies. In addition to being a Former Playgirl Model, you are ******* laying POS who has faxed the last shred of credibility you had down the toilet. And for what? To satiate your incessant desire to be right about Milton Bradley? Your hand-wringing response to Miles’ post is so much over-protestation, Steve. You’re done here. Now we all see you for waht you are: a sad, pathetic little man. A physical shell of the Playgirl model, and a professional shell of the man that helped to carry the Cubs into a new age with some of the most excellent TV broadcasts in MLB history. Just STFU and GTFA, you lying liar.
