Boston College will host its first ever ACC Indoor Track and Field Championships at the world renowned Reggie Lewis Center in Boston from Thursday, Feb. 23 to Saturday, Feb. 25. The meet, which is open to the public, kicks off on Thursday at 12 p.m. with the pentathlon and heptathlon. Events start at 11 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.

The Boston College baseball team was ranked 17th by ESPN in their Power Rankings, released on Tuesday. The Eagles were also named the "Off-Radar Team of the Weekend" for their sweep in the Caravelle Resort Tournament, beating No. 17 Virginia, James Madison and No. 35 Coastal Carolina.

Boston College women's ice hockey freshman Alex Carpenter was named the Pro Ambitions Hockey East Rookie of the Week in a conference announcement on Monday. This is the third time the center from North Reading, Mass. has been recognized as a player of the week by the league.

BC's Melchionda Picks Up Award

Boston College star shortstop Anthony Melchionda picked up the first ACC Player of the Week award for his outstanding play this weekend. In helping the Eagles go a perfect 3-0, Anthony went 6 for 14, with a home run and 3 doubles. He scored 3 runs, knocked in 6 and walked once. Anthony hit .259, with 1 home run and 5 rbi's for the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox this past summer.

Boston College lacrosse has moved up two spots in the latest deBeer women's media poll. The Eagles are now ranked at No. 8, according to the first poll of the 2012 regular season.
