Those efforts failed, however, and as a result, Washington placed Kelly on injured reserve, ending his 2010 season.
Kelly left the Redskins' first training camp practice after tweaking his hamstring, which had been sore since earlier in the summer. He finally returned to the field Monday for the first time in a month, but suffered yet another setback -- head coach Mike Shanahan described it as a "pretty good pull" -- and exited again. That apparently sealed his fate for the upcoming season.
The Washington Post's Jason Reid reported that an injury settlement was the "most likely result" in the wake of Kelly's Monday mishap. That could still eventually come to fruition, though Kelly's placement on I.R. prevents the Redskins from having to save room for...
