I think this is a very bad idea, but  I’m also not an NBA owner either. Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban believes that expansion in the NBA is on the horizon as long as it would be for the right price for the owners. “There’s a good chance of it happening,” Cuban said, “but I have no idea when. “I just think the price of the expansion fee has to be so high that the NBA owners think, ‘OK, we’re crazy not to do it.’ What that number is, I don’t know. But I’m open to it. It just depends on the price. If it’s the price of the last one, no. I thought that was a huge mistake and I voted against it. It just depends on the price.” The mistake I believe Cuban is referring to may be the $300 million expansion fee that was levied when the Charlotte Bobcats entered the league in 2004-05. I see no reason for team 31 or 32 when the overall talent in the league is down anyway.

Mark Cuban: NBA expansion will happen before relocation, if the price is right

Anybody who has seen how difficult it’s been for an expansion team like Charlotte to get competitive might flinch at the thought, but Mavericks’ owner Mark Cuban said Saturday that expansion in the NBA probably is on the horizon. For the right price, that is. “There’s a good chance of it happening,” Cuban said, “but I have no idea when.” Cuban said the key to getting...

Cuban: 'Good Chance' Of Expansion NBA Teams In Future

Mark Cuban believes that expansion in the NBA is on the horizon as long as it would be for the right price for the owners. “There’s a good chance of it happening,” Cuban said, “but I have no idea when. “I just think the price of the expansion fee has to be so high that the NBA owners think, ‘OK, we’re crazy not to do it.' Mark Cuban says There’s a Good Chance of an Expansion NBA Team in the Future

This is exactly what the league doesn’t need in my opinion. There’s already only about a handful of teams that can actually win the championship so I don’t see why another franchise is needed. But, I’m not an owner. So for the people who are owners such as the Mavericks’ Mark Cuban, I can understand […]

Jae Crowder, NBA Rotation Player

If one were to rank players according to the frustration they cause among the Moneyball crew, Jae Crowder was a regular in the discussion last season. It might seem unfair to label a second round rookie frustrating, but he showed such potential early and had flashes of solid play often enough to keep us interested in his progression. Leading into this season, one of the questions...

Ellis leads Mavericks past Bucks

If Monta Ellis was wondering what to expect in his first trip back to Milwaukee, he found out pretty quickly. Boos during introductions and, for a while at least, every single time he touched the ball against the team he played for last season. Ellis got the best of his former team and its fans, shaking off the boos to contribute 18 points and five assists to help the Dallas Mavericks...

Wizards-Mavericks Preview

The Dallas Mavericks have been at their best at home, allowing them to overcome early struggles on the road. Given their success versus the Washington Wizards - as well as Dirk Nowitzki and Monta Ellis' performances against them - they appear to have a good chance to remain undefeated on their home floor when they face Washington on Tuesday night. Dallas (4-3), winner of six...
