Nebraska's Taylor Martinez is set to break 2001 Heisman Trophy winner Eric Crouch's school career total offense record Saturday against Michigan State. Only a junior, Martinez could finish his career as one of college football's most prolific quarterbacks ever. But Crouch said Martinez probably needs to win a championship of some kind before he can he be judged as one of the Cornhuskers' all-time great quarterbacks. Martinez, who is 23-10 as a starter, has a chance this year. The 21st-ranked Huskers (6-2, 3-1) lead the Big Ten Legends Division going into the game with the Spartans (5-4, 2-3). Quarterbacks most often mentioned as Nebraska's greatest are Tommie Frazier (1992-95), Jerry Tagge (1969-71), Turner Gill (1981-83), Scott Frost (1996-97) and Crouch (1998-2001).

Missing the hardware

Can Taylor Martinez be judged as one of the Cornhuskers' all-time great quarterbacks if he doesn't win a championship of some kind?

Michigan State's season comes down to this weekend

Before the season started, I wrote about Michigan State possibly having a mediocre season. I said I wouldn't be surprised if they finished with five losses. And I took some flak for even thinking that. Oh, Sparty.....Here are some of the comments regarding my opinion on how Michigan State's season would go:"The Original Rocker is an idiot. Try learning what MSU does...

2012-13 Big Ten Basketball Preview: Michigan State Spartans

Michigan State started off the 2011 season on an aircraft carrier, their 2012 season will kick off in a similar fashion. The Spartans will play the first game of the 2012 college basketball season at the Rammstein Air Base in Germany. Remember the camouflage jerseys? Well a similar version will be worn by Michigan State in this college kick-off game. The 2011 season did not start...

Mark Dantonio danced after Spartans win

Michigan State quarterback Andrew Maxwell hit receiver Bennie Fowler on the 12-yard strike in overtime to given Wisconsin its first home loss since 2009.  More importantly for Michigan State, it marked their first win in Camp Randall Stadium in their last 22 tries.  It also helped the struggling Spartans get one win closer to becoming bowl eligible which would be crucial to help...

Mark Dantonio danced after Michigan State beat Wisconsin (Video)

The video itself is as shocking as it sounds.  I can count on one hand the number of times that I have seen Michigan State’s head coach smile, let alone ever seen him dance with the team.  Perhaps it’s the fact that this was Wisconsin’s first home loss since 2009, and the first time that Michigan State had beaten Wisconsin at Camp Randall in it’s last 22 games there. ...

Burning Michigan State questions

On Thursday, SpartanDigest managing editor Dave Berk joined Big Red Report to preview the Nebraska/Michigan State contest.

Spartans Must Build off of Win in Wisconsin:

Michigan State found itself down 10-3 following a Wisconsin field goal with six minutes left. The defense had played great all day as the Spartans were able to accumulate five sacks, but the offense continued to struggle. Michigan State fans were expecting the same old offense that they have seen all game as well as all season, but someone changed it up. I am not sure if it...

Sparty looking to keep up

Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio knows what Nebraska can do from four whippings as a Kansas aide, a pair of poundings as a Spartans assistant and a decisive loss last year in his program's second straight 11-win season.

Audio: Dantonio Big Ten Teleconference
