MLB Injury News:
It was recently reported that Los Angeles Dodgers center fielder Matt Kemp was making progress as he recovers from an ankle injury, but it was added that he still had a long way to go. Apparently the duration of his recovery will carry over into September, as manager Don Mattingly told reporters -- including Ken Gurnick of MLB.com -- that the best-case scenario doesn't have Kemp rejoining the Dodgers until at least next month.
"September would be the best-case scenario for
Matt," said Mattingly.
Kemp has been sidelined for the last month by his ankle injury, an ailment the team didn't initially think would require a stint on the disabled list. His recovery has gone extremely slow, and there's till not a true timeframe on his return.
With Kemp on the DL, the Dodgers have been on a tear, depending on an outfield consisting of Carl Crawford, Andre Ethier and Yasiel Puig. Kemp can still be an impact bat on a contending team, but prior to his injury he was struggling immensely this season. After posting a combined batting line of .315/.387/.567 over the past two years, the 28-year-old has only mustered a line of .263/.319/.382 over 251 plate appearances this season.

Matt Kemp's injured ankle has prevented him from taking part in full baseball activities up to this point. The Los Angeles Dodgers' outfielder has been able to jog in a straight line, shag fly balls, and take batting practice, but he has not been able to make hard turns - like a player would when rounding the bases. Fortunately, he is now starting to jog with slight turns...
Is this a warning sign of more issues to come with Yasiel Puig? I certainly hope not. The Dodgers are right fielders are no strangers to controversy, just ask Raul Mondesi.
It was reported that Dodgers outfielder, couldn’t quite make it on time to the ballpark in Florida. His teammates were already dressed and ready, but Puig was nowhere to be found. Puig apparently was staying...
CLOCK DON'T LIE
Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig proved to Instagram users that he was on time for Wednesday night’s game in Miami by taking a picture while pointing to a clock that read 3:18. Puig made headlines on Tuesday when he was fined “more than a dollar and less than $10,000″ for arriving 30 minutes late to Marlins Park. Puig was pulled from the starting lineup after being tardy but...

It looks like one of the all-time legends of the booth will be back for yet another season. According to the LA Times, Vin Scully will be returning to broadcast Los Angeles Dodgers games for an astounding 65th year with the franchise. Vin Scully is 85 years young, and his voice is as soothing as ever. Here is to 10 more.
Scully had this to say about the decision:
This is too irresistible not to consider. It's too tempting to let pass without giving pause.
Are we about to see a World Series preview this weekend at Dodger Stadium?
It's absolutely possible. The Dodgers and Red Sox, three games, two of them on national TV. Baseball fans are rubbing their hands in anticipation.
It's been a long time for the Dodgers, and although...
Yasiel Puig made news again today, not for what he did on the field, but because of a alleged clash with the media and an article by Jon Paul Morosi about how he needed to be benched and disciplined for his mental mistakes.
The fan reaction to both have been deservedly harsh, but I think the tone and approach of the media’s moralizing tends to cause fans to block out any relevant...
Clayton Kershaw might win another Cy Young Award this season. And Hyun-Jin Ryu could be the National League rookie of the year.
But over the last seven weeks neither has been the best pitcher on the Dodgers.
That honor goes to right-hander Zack Greinke who held the Miami Marlins to one run over eight innings Wednesday in a 4-1 victory winning for the ninth time in his last 10 decisions...
Don't expect a sentimental reunion when Boston plays the Los Angeles Dodgers this weekend and visits former Red Sox Adrian Gonzalez, Carl Crawford and the injured Josh Beckett.
But don't expect a lot of regrets, either.
Almost a year after the trade that sent the three high-priced and under-performing players - along with Nick Punto - to the Dodgers, both teams are in the...
Los Angeles Dodgers setup man Brian Wilson has been offered a cool $1 million just to shave his beard off. Take the money and run, buddy.
Yasiel Puig‘s shooting star may be crashing back down to earth.
The young Dodgers star who dazzled in June and July has hit a skid — he’s gone just 2-for-17 at the plate in his last four games, and was noticeably absent from the Dodgers’ roster for their game against the Miami Marlins on Tuesday. To add insult to injury, Puig was slapped with a fine by manager Don Mattingly...

Lebron James and South Beach made an honest man out of Yasiel Puig the other night; a very hungover honest man.
I always respected a guy who could go out until the wee hours of the night and abuse copious amounts of alcohol, only...
Tuesday began with Dodgers manager Don Mattingly hoping to teach Yasiel Puig, his young, brash, agressive phenom, a lesson about being a professional.
Judging by the way it ended, Mattingly either got his message across in record time, or may have a serious problem on his hands.
After Puig showed up late to Marlins Park in Miami, the Dodgers skipper had a closed-door meeting with...
I've received a few PWEs over the last handful of weeks, and decided to showcase them together after lagging and not getting them properly written up and not getting the proper thanks out to those in need of thanking.Mark from Collector's Crack sent me this awesome new Matt Kemp.
