Darnell Dockett is a persistent one. A few weeks after his headline-generating Twitter shenanigans with Miss Alabama Katherine Webb and then her boyfriend, Alabama quarterback A.J. McCarron, Dockett was back it Friday while in New Orleans for Super Bowl week.
Despite saying last week in a radio interview that Webb wasn't his "type," he sent the following tweet to Webb, who's at the Super Bowl working as a media personality for "Inside Edition":
Aye @_katherinewebb we still on for lunch. I'm suggestion a spot in calliope projectsbring Lil AJ too! My boyz will keep him comapany. DARNELL DOCKETT (@ddockett) February 1, 2013
FYI, the Calliope projects are housing projects in central New Orleans known for having a horrifyingly high violent crime rate. Of course, Dockett's very first proposal to Webb was to take her out for wings and a night at a strip club, so his typical date agenda apparently isn't quite like mine or yours.
Anyway, while McCarron has largely taken the high road throughout the whole thing, Dockett's most recent overture to his lovely lady generated a couple not-exactly-high-road responses within a matter of hours:
@ddockett Pro player and u gotta try & be twitter thirsty! I saw you today bro with Katherine looked dead at you & u didn't say a thing! AJ McCarron (@10AJMcCarron) February 2, 2013@ddockett and come to mobile sometime if ya want to! I got plenty of boys that will keep u company! real AJ McCarron (@10AJMcCarron) February 2, 2013
real indeed. Dockett hasn't responded to those tweets, although based on his other Twitter activity, it appears he's staying plenty busy with various, um, activities.
Got pulled over by police, doing 150 in 65 ! Told him I'm late for a mtg!he said what mtg? I said hunting wmy white friends! No ticket gone DARNELL DOCKETT (@ddockett) January 31, 2013RT @dubcart: @ddockett did you hit up the strip club.----- yeah i left when some dude said free C-murder....Knowing he got life "time2go" DARNELL DOCKETT (@ddockett) February 2, 2013
The oh-so-appropriate "that's just Manny being Manny" might soon be replaced in the sports-world vernacular by "that's just Dockett being Dockett."
