The official timetable was six weeks.  When Metta World Peace went down with a torn meniscus and had to undergo surgery, the Lakers said he would miss six weeks.  That meant the Lakers would not only have to make it to the playoffs, but advance to the second round if MWP was to return to the court this season.  Now, he is hinting at a return that may be ahead of schedule.According to Dave McMenamin of ESPN Los Angeles, Metta World Peace is already off crutches and healing every day.  In fact, MWP says he's getting better every half day."It's going really well," World Peace said of his rehabilitation Wednesday. "I was on the crutches for a couple days, but it just gets better. Like, every half of day, it improves. I'm very encouraged."MWP's rehab may put him ahead of schedule.  The fact that he is walking around without crutches and without pain is encouraging.  It will be difficult, but there is a chance that MWP comes back before the end of the season.  Of course, he won't come out and say that exactly."Just wait and see," World Peace said of his return. "Just wait and see. "When they said six weeks, I was like, 'Oh my goodness,' but knowing me, I would play with one leg if I had to," World Peace said. The Lakers are 39-36.  After the Utah Jazz lost last night, the Lakers moved ahead by a half-game into the eighth spot in the Western Conference playoff picture.  It will be difficult for the Lakers to make the postseason without MWP.  It will be even more difficult for them to win a playoff series.
