Metta World Peace talked about the Dwight Howard and Kobe Bryant situation Former Los Angeles Lakers forward Metta World Peace talked about the Kobe Bryant and Dwight Howard situation, and had some interesting comments. Peace, who recently signed with the New York Knicks, believes that Kobe Bryant will play three more years now that Dwight has decided to take his talents to Houston. But that’s not all, according to Peace, he believed that Howard was going to leave for Houston to play for the Rockets all along. Via Inside The Lakers: “I always knew Dwight was going to Houston. Things weren’t clicking,” World Peace said recently at Universal Studios where he filmed a segment with the Hallmark Channel’s “Home and Family slated to air today at 10 a.m. “Once Kobe said he could come back for three years, I knew Dwight was going to Houston.” Peace felt that Dwight wasn’t comfortable and things never clicked in Los Angeles. In fact, once Kobe talked about playing for another three years, he knew it was only a matter of time before Dwight was gone. “It’s not about being the guy,” World Peace said. “It’s about clicking. Dwight never wanted to be the guy. Dwight did have some flaws just like anybody. Everybody has flaws. But Dwight just wanted to be comfortable. He wasn’t comfortable [here]. But once that happened [with Bryant's comments], I knew Dwight wasn’t coming back. I knew he wasn’t going to come back.”   The post Metta World Peace weighs in on the Kobe Bryant-Dwight Howard situation appeared first on Pass The Pill - Kings of Hoops.

Los Angeles Lakers: Making the most with the minimum

The Los Angeles Lakers are nearly done assembling their roster for the 2013-2014 season and while they won’t be sending out a “super team”, Lakers fans should be encouraged and thankful for the players who will be suiting up in purple and gold. With only the mini-mid level and minimum contracts available for use, the new signees could have been worse. Rather than sit and sulk...

A pile of Dwight Howard jerseys are going cheap at Lakers team shop

For those of you wondering what the Los Angeles Lakers are doing with all those Dwight Howard jerseys they have stocked up in their Team LA store at the Staples Center, it appears that they are getting a heavy discount. The authentic jerseys are going for about $20 bucks a piece (down from 85-125) and check out the huge pile below: *** Dwight Howard jerseys are going cheap [Deadspin]

Kobe’s Mom Cashes In On Memorabilia To Buy New House

In what has been an ongoing feud for quite some time Kobe Bryant’s mother Pamela, has cashed in on quite the score as she has sold several pieces of rare memorabilia. In the past Kobe has shown his distaste for the subject matter in a tweet, however personally I believe this is a travesty and no one family member should ever exploit the other. Maybe someday they will make up. A...

D'Antoni takes parting shot at Howard, Rockets

Dwight Howard has certainly had his share of critics following his decision to join the Houston Rockets. (OK. He had plenty before then as well.) One such critic has been Howard's former coach Mike D'Antoni. Howard had been vocal in the past about how he asked the Lakers to hire Phil Jackson instead of D'Antoni following the firing of Mike Brown last season and has...

Two NBA championship rings that Kobe Bryant gave to his parents each sold for more than $100,000 at an auction that supported one of his charities. Goldin Auctions said six items of Bryant memorabilia sold for a combined $433,531 in the monthlong auction that closed early Saturday morning. A 2000 Lakers championship ring gifted by Bryant to his father, Joe, sold for $174,184. A...

Kobe memorabilia nets over $400K

The rings are the thing for Kobe Bryant's parents. His rings, that is. It what may signal the end of a bitter memorabilia dispute, two of Bryant's replica NBA championship rings sold on Friday for $174,184 and $108,153, respectively. They were part of an auction as part of the settlement between Bryant and his parents, who tried to sell close to 100 of Bryant's items...

James Harden Doesnt Want To Talk About Dwight

Apparently, James Harden is already just as sick of Dwight Howard as the rest of us. Yesterday he walked into a media session, but asked the reporters to promise not to ask him any questions about D12. They told him they couldn’t make that promise. So Harden promptly walked away, ending the interview. It’s heroism like this that make us love you, James. I hear every time he says...

Transfer of power requires Great Man

Tucked away in the mess that was Dwight Howard's unhappy tenure in Los Angeles was another relevant, interesting truth about the Lakers, their future and the nature of prolonged greatness in the NBA. Any team hoping for sustained dominance is best served with a star able to turn his franchise over to someone else. And Kobe -- along with his Lakers -- is particularly ill-equipped...

Authentic Dwight Jerseys Are Selling For $20

According to Deadspin, Staples Center is desperately trying to get rid of its stock of Dwight Howard jerseys, discounting team authentics to $20. I’m no mathematician, but that seems like a mark down of 800 percent. At that price I might buy 3 and just use them as napkins. Clipper Darrell Sells Cars Stars Fly For Jordan

Heat to be major players in summer of 2014

In the wake of Dwight Howard’s departure, the Los Angeles Lakers have been looking forward to 2014, when their options could be wide with a deep free-agent class and perhaps as much as $50 million in salary-cap room. But there could be another huge player in free agency next summer, another destination team with a championship pedigree: The Miami Heat. That may be hard to fathom...

Parsons Played Key Role In Bringing Dwight Howard To Rockets

When Chandler Parsons switched agents to Dan Fegan in May, he became closer friends with Dwight Howard. Parsons and Howard originally met in Orlando when the former was playing at Florida and latter was with the Magic. Parsons helped recruit Dwight Howard to the Houston Rockets. "I think I had a big impact," Parsons said at USA Basketball's mini-camp. "The first...

Pacers’ Paul George: Lakers fans constantly recruiting me

Indiana Pacers guard Paul George is spending the week in Las Vegas training at USA Basketball’s minicamp.  He says every time he runs into a Los Angeles Lakers fan, they ask him if he’s coming to L.A. “ ’Paul, are you coming to L.A.? Let’s get you in L.A.’ That’s all I’ve been hearing
